The Success of Failure

I recently saw the video Michael Goodwin on the loss of the freedom to fail, which is a response to the aptly named “New Threats To Freedom” series. When we think of threats to freedom we immediately imagine domestic or international terrorism, Communism, and/or Nuclear war. It’s due to this narrow minded, but widely accepted, view of the threats to freedom, that I believe Constitutional and Academic sabotage has been so successful. The enemy within if you will.

Despite teachings of the contrary, our Constitution is not vague on what areas the government should or should not control. This includes schools and education. Michael Goodwin’s video cites specifically automatic promotion and schools inability to show failure to their students, for the sake of their “self-esteem” as a form of a threat to our freedom. This is based on the concept that Freedom allows for great success, but great success must allow for great failure. Great failure has lead to the greatest exceptionalism and inventions in our worlds history. Academia’s irrational fear of failure has lead to poor work ethics, students who graduate ill-equipped for the real world, failed lives and low self-worth. Despite their good intentions, our society’s obsession with “self-esteem” actually injures our students future by ignoring an individuals need for pride, success, and self-worth, none of which is gained when only the collective is favored. With experiments like automatic promotion or not using grades, the individual is ignored for the good of the many.

This “fear of failure” has even seeped into our school sports and extracurricular activities. In the name of self-esteem, all team members are given trophy’s just for showing up. We no longer award individuals talents or achievements, or a teams ability to work together and become exceptional.

Having poorly educated and ignorant citizens leads to less exceptionalism and entrapanuership. When people fear failure to the point where they are unwilling to risk it, they unwittingly ensure that they will never succeed beyond the basic necessities of life, if that. And this in turn leads to citizens more and more dependent on the Federal Government, which does not judge on an individuals personal goals or wants or abilities, but a collective value system based solely on yearly income, number of dependents, and inability to work. Our citizens become slaves to the government, relying only on them the provide and living in terror that that safety net will be disassembled. By teaching our children that failure is the worst that can happen to you, we now have a society that believes it’s government MUST provide, or people will die in the streets, unable to provide for themselves. And therefore, our freedom no longer belongs to us, but is doles out at the discretion of the government, based on it’s owns desires and whims, rather than the idea that all people, in a free society, have equal opportunity, not equal results.

In summation, exceptionalism has given way to mediocrity, and American society seems to be content with that.

TEA PARTY - A YEAR LATER

I cannot believe that it’s been a year since my first Tea Party. To think that this all started with a rant by Rick Santelli on CNBC, calling for a Chicago Tea Party, and here we are, a year later, still strong and getting stronger. I remember last February, getting out of the car with my mom and the kids, walking over to the bar in Fort Worth, not knowing what to expect. I had joined the We Surround Them meet up group on Meetup.com and a few days later someone said hey, we should have a tea party protest. We didn’t know what it meant, all we knew was we were sick and tired of being ignored and we wanted to do something. We all knew we were going to watch the Glenn Beck show on March 13, that was the point of the Meet up group, but this was different, this was separate. The next thing you know it’s being talked about on Michelle Malkin's blog. This little bar in Fort Worth was having a protest, a “tea party”, to let the White House know what we thought of all this spending. Suddenly, there are posts from all around the country, "We’re going to have one out here in LA", "Anyone meeting up in Detroit?". I watched as people got together, new websites sprung up to try to keep them all organized, and suddenly, Feb. 27 was a day that everyone around the nation would protest together, but far apart. No one covered it. Fox news didn’t talk about it. Glenn Beck wasn’t even sure if it was a good idea, that maybe it was too soon, or what was the true purpose. But slowly, as the day came closer, I saw more and more people on blogs talking about it. In comments on newspaper websites, in comments on YouTube, on MySpace and Facebook, in posts put up by individuals; all of a sudden we had a name and a date.

We were so excited standing there at the bar, outside on the street, listening to people speak about what we could do to take back our country. It wasn’t vicious, it wasn’t racial, it was people saying the things that my family talked about over dinner. Our anger at the last 8 years of Bush. How we stopped amnesty from happening just barely because of talk radio. How we called our congressmen over and over again, asking them NOT to pass TARP. And when the new stimulus bill came up under Obama, we did the same thing, to no avail. It was like we weren’t even there. And yet, here I was, surrounded by people who watched the same news I did, who were politically savvy and knew their history as well as current events. There were inside jokes, names being brandied about that at any other event would get you looks like you’d just sprouted a new head. But here, these people got it. They knew who Barney Frank was, called Pelosi a princess, and even held up signs “You are not alone” and understood what that meant. Up until that day, we were so frightened, believing that the government would pass everything, from Cap and Trade to Health Care and that we had no choice but to sit down and shut up. Because the Government was too big and the American people had a short attention span. When Glenn said “We’ll meet back up on 9-12” we screamed “NO! It’ll be too late by then! The American people will just acquiesce and take it like they have for the last 50 years!” But on that day in February, we had hope. And then we had another Tea Party in April and all of a sudden, we were a “movement”. We were a “group. That one was covered and the media couldn’t ignore us, even if they tried to demonize us. Then in July I went to a Tea Party that had 25,000 people in Dallas, with Michelle Malkin being the keynote speaker and I thought WOW! This is AWESOME!. Then there were the Town hall mobs and people speaking out and inside we knew, maybe we really COULD make a difference. Finally we met on 9/12, and after that massive march on WA, which seems to only exist in our minds, we had the elections in Virginia and NJ. If you asked me a year ago would there be something called the ‘Scott Brown Phenomenon” I would’ve called you crazy. I just didn’t believe that the passion was sustainable.

And yet, here we are, February 2010. I just returned from attending another Tea Party, which has now become a part of our lexicon, and we’ve successfully halted health care and Cap and Trade, and the November elections are just over the horizon. I think to myself, what a glorious people we are to defy the odds, like our Founding Fathers before us, to keep the momentum going, to keep the passion for liberty and freedom alive and burning. If they did it with no internet or TV or telephones and were able to defeat the greatest army on earth, imagine what we could do as a group of people with the advantages we have! One of my favorite fiction authors, Julie Garwood, had her hero say “One whisper, …added to a thousand others will become a roar of discontent.” I’ve though about that statement many times in my life and it’s true. To make change, one must be willing to stand up and take the fall. When I walked into that bar in Feb. 2009 I knew I was willing to fall. Not like my forefathers, who knew they were signing away their lives and family by declaring Independence. But I was willing to fall in my own right; to falter, to be attacked and belittled, to be disregarded and ignored, to be demonized and oppressed. The pain that is to come is worth it. Freedom is worth it. And the words still echo in my ears. Don’t. Tread. On. Me

8 Steps to fixing your Household Economic Budget crisis.

Using the Barack Obama Method.

Step 1: When your wife tells you that your expenses exceed your income, tell her that you’ll look for some spending cuts. After giving the budget a once over, ask her if she’s prepared to give up her water and power.

Step 2: Immediately go out and open up all the credit cards you can before you’re reported to the credit bureau. Max out the store cards first before your credit score drops. Purchase a bunch of necessary items like big screen TVs and furniture. Ask for an extension on your cards once they are maxed out. Pay a few of the bills slowly and eventually only pay the minimum payment. Tell the creditor you’ll pay more next month when things get better. Tell your wife this will stimulate you to make more money and will actually increase your income. When your wife complains that the bills are now larger, tell her you had to do something to stop this speeding train and did she want to just sit there and do nothing and go broke?

Step 3: When the creditors come to your door, asking to be paid, and your wife comes to get you, tell her everything will be ok. While she’s in the bedroom, sneak into her bag and pay the creditor from some money from her wallet, promising to send a check in the mail. Tell your wife you took care of it.

Step. 4: When your wife comes to you upset that all her money is gone from her wallet, get incensed and tell her it’s her ex-husbands fault, who’s a looser and a bum, and that it's his fault that you are all in this situation. Then ask her parents for a loan.

Step 5: Give your friends a blank check for their businesses without checking out their books or asking them what they plan to do with the money. Tell your wife you expect to make great returns on these investments which will increase your savings. When she comes to you upset because they spent all the money on porn and beer, ask a few of them to come over and, while she’s watching, yell at them with strong words. When she’s not looking shake your head to let your friends know you don’t really mean it. Bonus: Follow this up with a sternly worded letter that you show your wife. Meet up with your friends at Hooters and laugh at the letter over some beer.

Step 6: Ask your friends to invest in the local dilapidated drive in theater that no one wants and has been revamped many times by other investors and been a great failure. When your wife asks you how this will increase your income tell her there are thousands of people who don’t get a chance to watch movies at an affordable price. Then accuse her of being mean and call her a racist and ask her why she doesn't want poor people watching movies. When your friends don’t want to invest in the theater, threaten their wives or bribe them with more porn and beer.

Step 7: When your wife asks you why certain bills haven’t been paid or why you’ve bought more items from QVC with the credit card that is overdrawn, respond with lengthy and wordy monologues. Make sure to use big words. Repeat the words “cuts”, “budget”, “deficit neutral”, and “spending freeze” over and over again, and then tell her she just doesn‘t understand. When she looks puzzled, ask her why she wants to stop you from fixing the problem and arrogantly lecture her on her lack of participation. Then, tell her how stressful it is to find a solution. Make sure to let her know, over and over again, how you really don’t want to do this but you’re willing to work all night if you have to to find some answers. Go to a strip club with your friends and ponder the state of the world. Bring lots of singles.

Step 8: When they come to foreclose on your house and repo your car, make sure you have a secret stash of money for yourself that is hidden. Look sad and despondent and repeat over and over again "I don’t know how this happened." When your wife is left with no house or car, standing there with her new husband, hold your head up high and say you did the best you could. Vacation in the Caribbean with your friends and drink lots of beer.

ABORTION:
What They Don’t Tell You

September 26, 2004

In 1973, it was deemed by the United States Supreme Court that it was unconstitutional to prevent physicians from providing abortions as a “health” service to women because it was believed that modern science made them “relatively safe”. Every federal, state, and local law regulating or restricting abortion was struck down.1

1.5 million abortions are performed in the US per year, making it the most common surgery in the nation.# Many studies have been conducted since this ruling regarding the physical complications of abortion and it’s effect on a woman’s short term and long-term health. National statistics show that 10% of women who have had induced abortions suffer from immediate complications. 2% of them, or 30,000 women, fall under the category of major. Immediate major complications include infection, excessive bleeding, embolism, ripping or perforation of the uterus, anesthesia complications, convulsions, hemorrhage, cervical injury, and endotoxic shock. And last but not least, death.2

But what about the long-term effects of abortion, the dangers that exist months, even years, after the abortion is performed? In the 30 plus years since abortion was made legal in the United States, a multitude of studies have shown distressing dangers. There have been a number of links between abortion and several cancers including breast, cervical, ovarian and liver. Due to uterine perforations and cervical lacerations, many women who’ve had induced abortions have difficult carrying future pregnancy’s to term and have trouble during labor. 23% of women who have chlamydia at the time of their elective abortions and 5% of those who do not develop Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) within 4 weeks. And all of these risks increase with multiple abortions, and for those obtaining abortions in later trimesters.# Another danger on the abortion forefront is the use of the FDA approved mifepristone, better known as RU-486, in conjunction with misoprostol.

THE DANGERS OF RU-486/MISOPROSTOL

What is RU-486? According to RU-486facts.org:

RU-486 is the name commonly used for an artificial steroid that blocks progesterone, a hormone needed to continue a pregnancy... When taken alone, RU-486 causes a complete abortion only about 60% of the time. A second drug, a prostaglandin, is given 48 hours later to increase its effectiveness. The prostaglandin causes uterine contractions to help expel the embryo. Misoprostol (brand name Cytotec) is the prostaglandin used with RU-486 in the U.S. 3

In August 2000 Michael Cullen, MD, Medical Director at Searle, the manufacturer of Cytotec, wrote a letter to the FDA. In it, Dr. Cullen reminded the FDA “Cytotec was not approved for the induction of labor or abortion.” He goes on to say: "Serious adverse events reported following off-label use of Cytotec in pregnant women include maternal or fetal death; uterine hyperstimulation, rupture or perforation requiring uterine surgical repair, hysterectomy or salpingo-oophorectomy; amniotic fluid embolism; severe vaginal bleeding, retained placenta, shock, fetal bradycardia and pelvic pain. He establishes that Searle cannot “provide complete risk information” since the drug was not intended to be used for abortion purposes.4

Despite this warning, on September 28, 2000, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved mifepristone, and the accompanying drug misoprostol, under an accelerated drug-approval process normally intended for drugs as treatments for life-threatening illnesses such as HIV/AIDS.5 As of November 2003, at least four women have died from this combination, 13 required blood transfusions due to excessive blood loss, and in 5-8% of cases it caused severe complications.5 In US trials 99% of women who have used RU-486 have had at least one adverse effect ranging from abdominal pains, headaches, dizziness, viral infections, and uterine hemorrhaging, just to name a few. Of those, 23% were judged to be severe.6

These dangers are unknown by unsuspecting women due to the lack of requirements by the FDA. Unlike in France, where there is a required week after an initial visit before a woman is prescribed the pills, a return to the physicians office 48 hours later for misoprostol, and a follow up visit, the FDA only requires that a woman is “counseled” and sign forms, and that she is given medical phone numbers in case of complications.7 That is simply irresponsible, and unnecessarily dangerous.

THE ABORTION-BREAST CANCER LINK

28 out of 37 studies published worldwide, 13 out of 15 in the United States, report an increased risk in breast cancer among women with a history of induced abortions.8 A study funded by the US National Cancer Institute found induced abortion alone could increase the risk of breast cancer in women; for women with a family history of breast cancer that risk increased to 80%. In this study of 1800 women, family history of breast cancer in conjunction with an induced abortion before the age of 18 guaranteed the onset of breast cancer; 12 out of 12 women developed breast cancer before the age of 45.8

There are two indisputable factors for breast cancer. The first has to do with a woman’s exposure to estrogen and the second are the types of lobules, and their maturation, present in a woman’s breast. Immature Type 1 (prepubescent) and 2 (pubescent) lobules are where cancer cells are formed.9 These lobules are more susceptible to cancer by the presence of estrogen. When a woman carries a pregnancy to full term (32 weeks or more) these lobules mature to Type 3 (reproductive) and then Type 4 (lactation), which are resistant to carcinogens. This maturation protects a woman and lowers her risk of breast cancer.9

Within a few days of conception a woman’s estrogen level rises; by the end of the first trimester her levels have increased by 2000%. This, in turn, increases the amount of Type 1 and 2 lobules. Unless a pregnancy continues past 32 weeks, the increased number of immature lobules will not mature into Type 3 and 4.9

A study in 1970, widely accepted in the medical world, notes that an early first term pregnancy can greatly reduce the risk of breast cancer.8 This is because the earlier the lobules mature into Type 3 and 4, the less chance there is for Types 1 and 2 to become cancerous. Abortion affects this process in many ways. When a woman ends a pregnancy before the maturation of her breasts take place, she is left with an increased number of Type 1 and 2 lobules, which are in turn exposed to more estrogen through future menstrual cycles. In addition, the pregnancy itself increases the level of estrogen present in her body, making these lobules more susceptible to the formation of cancer cells.9

It is important that physicians inform a woman contemplating abortion about the risk factors in regard to breast cancer. First, she is removing the positive effects of a first full term pregnancy, which matures the lobules in the breast thus helping to prevent breast cancer in the future. Second, she is increasing her chances of cancer cells forming, possibly by 50-100% depending on her age and family history.

In conclusion, my research has shown that one of the biggest dangers facing women who have an elective abortion is her lack of knowledge. The government has very few requirements and regulations when it comes to informing women of the immediate and long-term dangers. While many clinics offering abortion services do counsel and inform, as well as suggest and promote follow up visits, they do so by their own conscience. Regulations insure the health and safety of those who are receiving surgery, in all manners of medicine. Why is abortion under separate rules? My research suggests that partisan politics and fear of anti-abortion legislation leading to the overturning of Roe vs. Wade clouds the minds of those who are elected to help and protect women. There is no excuse for sacrificing our health. Especially in cases like RU-486, where there are a lack of FDA regulations, or in the medical community, where many have turned a blind eye to the 28 studies that show a direct link between Abortion and Breast Cancer. Americans must stand up and demand equal treatment in ALL medical procedures, abortion included. Only then can abortion be deemed “relatively safe.”

ABORTION

37 years ago the government made it ok to kill babies from day one (conception) until they are born, whenever that might be. Abortion is legal all 9 months. It's perfectly ok to kill babies that are over 7 pounds and fully developed, as long as one foot is still inside the mother. Two of my children were born at 8 months. George Tiller would've killed them for $5000. That's progress?

My ex sister-in-law had a baby at 26 weeks gestation. Baby is 5 now. She could've killed her for about a thousand bucks. Why? When she got sick and was suffering from Pre-eclamsia the baby was delivered and spent a few months in an incubator. So because she wanted the baby, the baby was saved. If she didn't want the baby, it's no longer a baby and just a cancer or sore and killed in the womb. Why? If a woman is sick, why kill the baby? She can remove the baby and both of them can live, there's no need for an abortion to "save the mother's life". We have the technology to save the baby. The woman can walk away and never needs to see that baby again. Why pay to kill it?

I'm against abortion for all nine months because I don't believe in "magic" babies, that it's a baby only when a mother decides it a person. That's insane. But Roe vs. Wade made it legal to kill fully formed babies that can live outside the mother. I believe the Nazi's made it legal to kill fully formed people that they decided weren't human as well. And at one time it was ok to kill a black person as long as you owned him. Why should one person have the ability to decide when another person is human and kill that person at will?

Abortion is the fight over a woman's right to her womb and a baby's right to her life. Does a woman's wish to empty her womb trump a baby's right to live? Remember, a woman is not forced to raise the baby, keep the baby, change her life in any way after the baby is born. The way things are, a fetus must grow for a period of time inside a woman, that's just the facts. The woman may not like it but once she becomes pregnant, does she really have the right to kill that baby because she doesn't feel like sharing her womb for a few months? Like it or not, she's killing a human with a unique DNA, a heartbeat, and brain waves. It is a human, even when it's not able to live outside the womb. Does she really have the right to kill another human just because she feels like it, because it's a burden? Think about what this fight is really about. It's a human rights issue, not a religious or moral one, it's murder that's allowed and encouraged.

I DON'T WANT TO STEP IN THAT HORSE MANURE

So, how's that Socialism treating y'all? My only question is what I'm going to do with that extra $13 a week ($10 after taxes. You did know we're getting taxed on that money as income, right?) So in the end that $1000 we were all supposed to get in that welfare check is actually about $520 per year. Hmmm, I may be doing fuzzy math but that seems like alot less than a cool thousand.

Oh, and I can't wait until baldness is cured thru embryonic stem cell research. Oh, you thought it was going to cure cancer or make the Christopher Reeves in the world walk? No no my friends. Embryonic stem cell research has been going on for 25 years now with the only results being that any animals involved grow tumors the size of grapefruits filled with hair, nails, and teeth. ESCR has discovered nothing of use or value hence the reason why the private sector doesn't want to get involved. What's that, you thought that type of stem cell research was banned by George W? If you know anything about this farce of science and the policy's surrounding it it's that GW only banned FEDERAL MONEY going to fund research. Private researchers can do whatever they want, only they had to raise private funds. And if you know anything about Capitalism (the old type like back in 2003, not the pseudo-type we have now) anything that has any shot of making money is eaten up by private donors. That's why adult stem cell research is filled with people fighting over the multitude of discovers that have come from that research: because owning the patents to the cures for diseases is BIG money. Adult stem cells have made strides in just about every field of medicine. Embryonic stem cell has enhanced the ability to get a tumor filled with nails, teeth, and hair. So, with this new freedom and unlimited funding expect the scientists to work on something that may actually be successful and get them money, things like the cure for baldness or the next weight loss gimmick. Because there are no cures to be found here. If there were, 25 years would've resulted in something worthwhile. California has been funding embryonic stem cell research (and only that type, not one dime can go for adult stem cell research) for 5 years now to the tune of millions of dollars a year until the day California finally falls off the continent. (Prop 71 was a constitutional change that guaranteed the money no matter what and absolutely no oversight or proof of any results needed). And yet nothing. Michael J Fox promised us a cure if Prop 71 passed. I have terrible acid reflux. Where's my cure?

One last note that ties these two thoughts together: California has been practicing Socialism for years now and they keep funding unnecessary, heart string, knee jerk pet projects. And look at them now. Do you really think it's a good idea to follow in the footsteps of California, in any way, shape, or form? Sorry, it's like following the horse drawn carriage in a parade: Do Anything to Avoid the Horse Shit. That's my motto.

Who Knew Talking About The Economy Could Be So Stimulating?

The problem with responding to the $200 million dollars included in the stimulus bill is the amount of time it takes to layout simple logic. Those of you out there who are reading this and saying “Everyone already knows this!” bear with me, I have no choice but to plot thru slowly, as though talking to a 4 year old due to how this “plan” has been reported in the mainstream media. You see, I have actually read the bill, which in reading, proved that it is not, what our politicians and mediots have declared it to be.

Ok, here we go… The bill is supposedly a stimulus bill, which would indicate that the money being borrowed would stimulate the economy. To stimulate the economy means to excite, encourage, and ignite (if you will) the economy. So the money being borrowed from us, in theory, should get the economy going for all of our betterment.

Now, if 200 million is spent towards family planning the question is, “How does that stimulate the economy?” and “How does that help the economy to grow, and affect us now, and in the future?” You see, we’re not talking about morals and values, its basic fact, action vs. reaction, etc. If this were a bill for family planning, then it would make sense. But it’s an ECONOMY bill. We have to wonder what family planning has to do with the economy, and the actual business of the country’s financial state. And there might be an answer, but it’s not obvious, so let’s look at it logically. Because if the $200 million doesn’t actually stimulate the flow and liquidity in the job sector, banks, and markets, then its only purpose is to grease the palms of the family planning community. In essence, it’s money thrown down the toilet in order to make “Planned Parenthood” happy. Remember, the bill has a job to do. Any penny or dime that doesn’t directly impact that business and financial sector is wasted money.

What is the purpose of family planning? Many I’ve heard have made the correlation between the ideas that women who can plan their children are more productive members of society and give birth to more productive members of society. Ok, by a long stretch of the imagination, that can be tied to the economy. After 40 years, the social experiment of family planning and abortions have many, many conclusions. The mantra that child abuse and teenage pregnancies would disappear has been proven false. Family planning and abortion has led to a society that glorifies out-of-wedlock children and diminishes the idea of a two parent, financially secure household. This in turn has led to higher crime, more people dependant on welfare, and more of a burden on taxpayers. So the social experiment failed. It’s been 40 years and the proof is all around us. Let me make it a bit clearer for you.

Instead of decreasing the numbers, the social experiment with family planning and abortion actually caused a rise in child abuse, teenage pregnancies, welfare dependants, and tax burdens. All that work and the opposite happened. It’s not about my personal beliefs, these are facts. The numbers have gone up. The more people are told they can have sex without consequences, the more people go and have sex and suffer the consequences. No matter how many condoms are available, how many abortion clinics are on the street, how many teachers teach teenagers how to use birth control, human nature guarantees failure. And the more people doing dangerous activities the more people will suffer the dangerous consequences. Its science, physics. I can’t make it any clearer. No matter the precautions, there is always a fail rate. If more people are participating than the chances are more people will fail. I’ll try to give an example, but most people just won’t get it. I don’t know why, but they can’t wrap their brain around it.

OK. If ten people are putting their hands in a fire and getting burned you may say “Hey, we need to help those people. Let’s make a glove that protects their hand so they won’t get burned.” So you make a glove and give it to the ten people. All ten put it on. The problem is it’s guaranteed that at least 2 of the 10 people will use the glove incorrectly. That is human nature. Not all people use things correctly. So 8 of the ten are safe now, but 2 still get burned. OK, but at least it’s only 2 getting burned instead of 10 right? Except now we invite a bunch of people over to put their hands in the fire too, since we have all this protection. Except we know that for every 10 people putting their hand in, 2 will get burned. Now instead of 10 people we have 10,000 people putting their hand in the fire and even though we have protection and 8000 of them don’t get burned, we now have 2000 people who are injured. That’s why it’s sometimes better for people to be taught not to do dangerous things rather than telling everyone to do really dangerous things but use protection. Because when people are told NOT to do something that they shouldn’t do it for this reason or that, less people do it and less people get hurt.

The other aspect to consider is why we would need $200 million more put towards family planning at all. Lets say, for hypothetical reasons, that family planning DID lead to future economic stimulus and that what you said was true, that women who had access to family planning and abortions would work more and give more money to the government in turn being more productive members of society and giving back to their communities. Even if that were true (which it’s not) we already have family planning available all over this country; from high schools to strip malls. Women in any major city can find a Planned Parenthood or other clinic that offers a sliding scale charge for birth control and abortions. Almost all health insurances cover birth control, and for women without health insurance any one of these clinics will cover the pill and other female contraceptive for next to nothing. Not to mention that condoms are almost free. So even if one could prove that family planning is good for the economy, it’s not a needed expense since it’s already available. And if people out there say there aren’t enough, I want the name of cities, streets, areas, barrios, etc. that a clinic isn’t somewhere within a bus stop. We can’t have a clinic on every corner in every city, and if we wanted to do that, $200 million wouldn’t pay for it, and that’s not what this said it was going to do. So please, tell me why we need this money to go for family planning?

People are supporting giving $200 million dollars to the some guy in the government and yet have no idea what he’s going to do with it. Obama says family planning and everyone just creams in their pants but they have no idea what that means. Please, someone, explain it to me. How is the money to be spent? Who gets it? What exactly will be done with each dollar? How does it help the economy since this is an economic bill? Answer those questions and I’ll contemplate it. But just saying the words “family planning” doesn’t get me all excited. It’s not about my religion, my beliefs, or my values. It’s about logic. People hear a statement and parrot it because Nancy Pelosi and Obama are their spiritual guides and like a lemming, they say whatever their leaders say without any thought to what it means. They are the epitome of everything the liberals say they hate about Christians. Christians are accused of going into church and just reciting what they hear without any thought, but this bill and the answers for the stealing of all of this money, and the reaction from the liberals in the cult who just spew what they hear without ever dissecting it just proves that it is the LIBERALS who are sheep and not the other way around.

I request that anyone who wishes to argue my points actually read them before you just spout what you hear on MSNBC or read in the Times. Think, absorb what I’ve said, and THAN offer your argument. I’d love to hear it, but no one seems to want to actually talk logically, just emotionally.

WHY DO THE JEWS CONTINUE TO DESTROY THEMSELVES?

I have written previously about the strange proclivity of Jews to vote for politicians and laws that seek to hurt them and rarely have the Jews or Israel’s best interested at heart. During the last few days, while Israel is fighting for her right to exist, it’s astounding how the media is so thorough when it comes to the perceived atrocities committed by Israel, while at the same time loudly silent on the documented attacks by Hamas. I have long since said that Jews are guilty of committing suicide by continuing to support anti-Semitic and Anti-American politicians. If I wasn’t already a Christian, the fight against the Jews and Israel, the completely absurd and overdramatic hatred of Israel, and the Jews idiotic response, all of which were prophesized in the Old Testament, would be proof enough for me that there must be a God, a Satan, and that the Bible is truth.

Take, for example, the hatred of Israel. This small, largely unimportant country (in comparison to some of her superpower allies I mean) is at the forefront of hatred by her neighbors. Why? She’s not richer, more successful, or morer antagonizing than any other country in the Middle East. In fact, Israel has tried over and over again to be the wallflower at the dance, yet the Prom King and Queen still find the need to torment her. There is no logical explanation for the all encompassing hatred and vitriol that has been spewing from Iran, Palestine, Pakistan, and every other Muslim country for the past few centuries. It’s so crystal clear that Liberalism, Communism, and the like are mental disorders, as the title of Dr. Michael Savage’s best seller book states. Why else would the media be consumed with political correctness anytime a Christian makes a movie about the life and death of Jesus, but has nothing to say when the President of a country denies the Holocaust and calls Israel a stinking corpse? Only a mental disorder of the largest kind can explain why the very Jews that those countries want to slaughter overwhelmingly and consistently keep voting for representatives that are sympathizers with Jew haters.

Obviously there is a Satan that hates God’s chosen people, so much so that he has infiltrated them and become the enemy within. The greatest adversaries to Jews are Jews themselves, who have the money and power to stop the people who want to see them destroyed, yet use their money and power in ways that are self-destructive. Classic mental disorder behavior.

The funny thing is, if I were famous, or had any large audience, I would be denounced in the media as anti-Semitic for writing this blog, I would be paraded in front of the cameras as a hatemonger, and I would be blacklisted and harassed for my “hate speech”. This article explains the definition of irony, since I am simply pointing out that the true Jew haters are left to do their deeds while those who support Israel and the Old Testament are flogged for outing the people who want to destroy the Jews.

WITH ECONOMY IN SHAMBLES, CONGRESS GETS A RAISE

Isn’t that wonderful? I was very worried about my personal representative from central Texas, Chet Edwards, and the rest of those in Congress, who’ve sacrificed so much for the people of this country. Many of them are living below the poverty line, from pay check to pay check, never sure when their next meal is coming. I mean, these men and women are heroes who have done without for far too long. I’m so disappointed that they’re only getting a cost of living increase; personally I believe these selfless martyrs should get a 50% increase for their service. Without their plethora of wisdom, who knows what kind of an economic mess we’d be in. I know I’M doing just peachy keen, and expect things, at least financially, to just get better and better. The government is bailing me out of crunches left and right, money is falling into my hands like leaves off a tree, and I have WAY too many pots to piss in. Suddenly, I’m like Brewster’s Millions with no IDEA how to spend what I have. It’s not like I’m cutting off everything that can possibly be called a “luxury”, like magazines, cable, credit cards, home care, gas, food, toilet paper, you know, extravagant items like that. No, my family isn’t preparing for a possible depression, or budgeting like never before. No, I’m giving myself a pay raise, because I have that kind of power.

I hope to the Lord above that you, the reader, are able to decipher sarcasm through the written word, because that entire paragraph was nothing but. I was horrified when I read about this. Those liars, cheats, and thieves in Congress have the AUDACITY to raise their own income while they preach to us, the “little people” in the private sector, on what our executives should do to better manage their businesses. Those sycophants in Washington, who claimed we had a “crisis” of epic proportions on a Monday in October, like a fire that was burning thru Malibu, but then took Wednesday and Thursday off for the Jewish Holidays, has the cojones to tell their constituents that even though they, the “people”, are suffering with pay freezes and pink slips, the government should just go on like business as usual. How many firemen fight a blaze about to harm millions of people only to turn off the water for a couple of days to observe some religious occasion? Cause the police and fire departments are closed on Christmas, right? Those DO NOTHINGS on the hill caused our country to spiral out of control, have single handedly destroyed the greatest capitalist nation on Gods green Earth, and then decide “You know what will really help out those lives we’ve destroyed? Giving ourselves more money so we can work even harder, maybe even 4 days a WEEK, to come up with long winded speeches and superficial gestures of grandeur like yelling at CEO’s that we go golf with later that afternoon! YES! THAT’S what’s REALLY the problem; it’s not giving loans to people who can’t pay them back, or handing bailout money to our buddies, or continuing to employ the people who lie and cheat who, surprise, surprise, keep on lying and cheating. No, the REAL problem here is that we, the Congress, who’ve made all the mistakes, aren’t getting enough money. THAT’S what was missing!” I’m so disgusted with America. We’ve become nothing more than a joke. Our system of government is gone, the Constitution is dead, and the people have no power. We are quickly becoming the new Rome (which fell, if you didn’t hear), except they were around for 1500 years, we only lasted 250. America is a thing of the past, at least how we think of her. I don’t know what to call us now, but the people in charge are grabbing what they can before the crap hits the fan, and those of us who just live and work and try to raise a family without stealing from everyone around us (lets call them “citizens”) are the ones who are going to pay.

Remember: Money talks and Bullshit walks. The people who’ve destroyed us, like Rep. Barney Frank, Sen. Chris Dodd, Rep. Charlie Rangel, Pres. Bush, Sec. Paulson, Chris Cox, etc. will keep their jobs or have more than enough money and power to live well, travel, and take care of their kids. Those bastards will continue to steal as much as they can before we collapse. And hardworking, honest people like myself, my neighbors, my family, and you will suffer with job losses, food shortages, a dollar that has no worth, investment losses, savings and retirement gone, home foreclosures, repossession, bankruptcy, etc. and we will be called irresponsible, lazy, worthless, weak, and trash. WE will be on the street, desperate for shelter and food, while the thieves will look at us, the commoners, as stupid and pathetic because we won’t steal, or exploit, or deceive, or sell our soul to the devil.

What a country!

Poor Bill Ayers and his attack by "Big Brother" FOX News

We are officially living in a parallel universe, a bizarro world, an alternative dimension. Call it what you will, but this is no longer planet earth, and definitely no longer America.

I watched a portion of Bill Ayers' breathlessly anticipated speech at the All Souls Unitarian Church in Washington on Nov. 17 where he compared FOX News to the government run media in the ficticious city Oceania in George Orwell's 1984. Here is his entire quote:

“The great lie that’s been perpetrated…that somehow I’ve been a violent person…all of it false, and I couldn’t find a way to interrupt the demonization. There were times when I felt like that wonderful moment in George Orwell’s 1984 called the 2 minutes of hate where they would cast Emmanuel Goldstein image up on the screen and the party faithful would chant, "Kill him." The only thing is Gorge Orwell had quite an imagination but he couldn’t imagine FOX News I mean….who would imagine such a thing, 24/7…2 minutes hate forget about it, it’s hate all the time.”

Yes, this “elementary education theorist”, this great professor from Chicago University believes that FOX News is similar to the lie infested, utopian media from the brilliant book 1984. I once believed that the title professor meant something. Recently, however, I’ve found that in order to be a professor at our nations leading colleges one doesn’t need anything more than a radical point of view and friends in the right places. A little bit of daddy’s money doesn’t hurt either. In fact, colleges are the favorite hiding places for the domestic terrorists from the 1960’s and 70’s who were never put in prison and laid low on their parents money or in Europe until things quieted down.

However, this man is worse than the rest. As many of you know, although a good majority of Americans still do not, Ayers co-founded the Weather Underground, which bombed a number of buildings during the 1960s and 1970s. Just take a look at the flippant way the media, Wikipedia, and Ayers himself disregards the fact that this included the pentagon, NY City police headquarters and the United States Capitol Building. He freely admits that he formed the Weather Underground, admits he placed these bombs, but says they were small bombs, itsy-bitsy really, and he didn’t set out to kill anyone. Apparently if the bomb is small, and it was the 60’s, and it wasn’t an abortion clinic, and you aren’t a Christian, and it was done in the name of “protesting the war” than setting bombs on federal buildings does not make you dangerous or a terrorist. Also, you never have to define how setting bombs actually stops the war. That was “the past”. Kind of like “the good old days” only instead of playing stick ball in the street it’s playing with nails and a timer. Ayers and the media have redefined the meaning of the words terrorist, violent, and dangerous. And hey, he escaped jail time right? Well, that was mostly because of a technicality, not to mention the fact that his father was a gazillionaire and had ties to people that only those living in Chicago had ties to, if you get my drift.

Re-read his quote carefully. It goes in tandem with what he said on Good Morning America the Friday before, relating to an article that was written, and brought to the American forefront with great exaggeration by Obama in the third debate, where at a Palin rally, when she mentioned Obama “palling around with terrorists”, someone allegedly shouted “Kill Him”. Later, that story was quietly retracted and proved to be false, but Ayers is referencing it here as though it is true. Why not, none of his audience watches FOX, reads alternative new sources, or listens to talk radio so how would they know it’s been retracted, right?

As a refresher, 1984 is a book every high school student used to have to read in order to make them understand and appreciate the freedoms we have here in America and what Utopian society and an over intrusive Big Brother can do to civilization. The entire quote by Ayers is the definition of irony. NBC just released a DVD entitled “Yes We Can” which is a drooling documentary about Barack Obama. The Project for Excellence in Journalism (hardly a right wing think tank) notes that FOX had the most balanced coverage of the candidates with 40% being negative towards McCain and 40% negative towards Obama. How exactly is this Orwellian? THIS is the great government run media machine? And over at MSNBC they had 73% positive stories on Obama and only 26% negative. PEJ stated that in the press overall Obama’s coverage was 36% vs. 29% positive/negative. For McCain overall it was 14% positive vs. 57% negative. And let me remind you, at FOX news, it was 40/40. Only on FOX News did people get more than just bumper sticker talking points and feel good messages. The comment by Ayers is so ironic because he is saying that FOX News is representative of the Orwellian media which is information given to the masses in small bits and only at the governments approval. The media exists in “1984” only to propagandize what Big Brother wants the people to believe, think, and feel. The consumer gets only enough information to use to justify their feelings and their mind fills in the blanks. They are led to feel enraged (as in the 2 Minutes of Hate) based on whomever the leader deems is the enemy at hand with no information and no ability to get any information, and the people are sheep with no ability to think, feel, or act for themselves. And the person being slandered has no recourse because Big Brother owns the media and the victim has no way to reach the people.

So Bill Ayers is the victim here, and FOX News is the evil media outlet being driven by the evil Republicans (but I guess they try to hide it within their 24/7 hours of hate by attacking the Republicans 40% of the time) and with no information whatsoever (according to him), his face is flashed on the screen and like sheep, the watchers of FOX (and listeners of talk radio) absorb the hate. Of course the viewers of MSNBC get no alternative information at all, and without FOX News we wouldn’t even know about Obama’s connection to the Wood’s foundation or what he did with the fifty million dollars given by the Annenberg foundation or that Ayers did host a political coming out get together for Obama at his home and that maybe many people would like to know these things about their future President. The irony is this: it’s NBC who has an owner who is also the owner of GE, who funds the EPA in Washington and is the pusher of the global warming scare, and is the maker of all the global warming necessities, and has been given $130 billion in government bailout money, and NBC and her affiliates, including MSNBC, are supposed to be members of the Free Press News yet release a DVD honoring the newly elected President, and yet somehow it’s FOX News, the only station that mentioned Obama’s connections to Bill Ayers, that is the government run propaganda machine.

Yes, Ayers has no outlet, he is demonized with no way to set the record straight, and FOX is Orwellian for giving out all the information about a candidates past and naming names in a financial scandal rather than that nice MSNBC who has kind things to say about Mr. Ayers’ friends who just happen to be the candidate running and the guys ones over in Washington who still have their jobs in Congress and whose names would still be a mystery. Yes Bill, its FOX News that scares me. Because we all know, George Orwell believed the real danger was people having TOO much information.

What's The Big Deal About The Constitution?

HAVE FAITH IN NO MAN! That is the message of the US Constitution. All men are corruptible, driven by greed and competition, and when power is in their hands, they can't be trusted.

The US Constitution is quite possibly the most perfect document ever written. Why, because of its imperfection and ability for correction. The Founding Fathers knew that man’s greatest enemy was man himself. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. King George of Britain was the embodiment of destructive, abusive, oppressive power. It was his horrific treatment of the colonies that led to the writing of the Declaration of Independence and the American Revolution. In 1787, the Constitution was conceived, instituting the promises made in the Declaration of limited power and securing the rights that all men are created equal. The Forefathers knew that even they were corruptible and in a precarious position: now they were the men in charge who could either make the changes that would affect future generations to come or take advantage of the roles they were thrust into and grab the power they held. They knew that at any moment they could become the very monsters they had just fought, so they sought to construct a document that would address every conceivable loophole that would be attacked by mans greed.

The idea was that when you had limited power spread out among different branches, no branch being more powerful than the other, and you added the free press as a watchdog, the people would then have the ultimate power over the government. In the end, it would be THE PEOPLE who would have the most power. Man is fallible. That’s a given. No matter the man, no matter his ideology, he can be corrupted. Remember, have faith in no man, that’s the message. Limit the power of the federal government because the people can’t trust them. When the government has power and money, no matter who’s in charge, they will eventually become addicted, and that addiction will lead to corruption and oppression in order to keep it. This is the way of man; the writers had seen it firsthand. That’s why the Constitution was written the way it was, to avoid that. This depended on a number of things. First, that the branches of government stayed separate. This would be hard, and probably the first to go. They knew eventually Congressmen would get Judges to do their bidding and vice versa. That’s why there’s the Press, to keep the People informed and the Representatives on their toes. The Fathers knew men would be weak and cave, and that the three branches would break laws and play dirty. So the writers made sure that the politicians would have the newsmen watching them, and the politicians would have to let them stay around because they needed them in order to be re-elected. From this point forward, leadership wasn’t a divine right. Anyone could become a Representative, a Senator, a Governor, or even President. The politician could be cast aside, fired, or thrown out of office. The Press was their enemy, yes, and yet they were cunning enough to make sure that the government would have to use them. So the press competed amongst themselves for the story and even if one or two were paid off by a politician another one came and got the story. The politicians hated the Press but had to keep them around because they needed the media to get elected. Even though the Press was the enemy they had access to secrets the government kept from the People. The Press was the link between the government, their practices, and the PEOPLE. The free press was to use the natural aggression of man to compete among themselves for the story, and that competition would keep each other honest instead of what we have now, in the tank for one side or the other. Each newsman was out for the story, out for the scandal, out to make a name for himself, and that was what kept them honest. It was brilliant. Limited government, and a free press to report to the People on what was happening so those who became corrupt could be thrown out of office. The Press reported, the People knew the truth, and the corrupt would be let go. That’s how America worked, and it did work. It was the only way to keep a moral government.

All of this depended on an intelligent People, an informed electorate, and an interested Press intent on getting the story and keeping the government honest. Without that, capitalism won’t work. We’ve drifted so far from 225 years ago that we can’t even relate to the oppression of yesteryear. To most Americans, they’re just characters in a book. The country’s too large, and the voting population is too young, uneducated, and uninformed. Our youth is indoctrinated by our schools with misinformation. Children graduate high school not even knowing how to read. All it takes to vote is to reach the age of 18 and be a citizen. Our leaders lie to us, extort money, and break every rule that the Constitution warned us about. Without the safeguards the Constitution put into place, this is why we have the chaos that exists. This country wasn’t founded on the idea that homeless people with park benches as addresses getting the privileged to vote. It was about moral, intelligent, well-informed people, who cared about this country going out there, working to make a living and offering up their services as voters, public servants, or newsmen.

Apparently it’s “WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES, IN ORDER TO FORM A MORE PERFECT UNION, ESTABLISH JUSTICE, INSURE DOMESTIC TRANQUILITY, PROVIDE FOR THE COMMON DEFENCE, PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE, AND SECURE THE BLESSINGS OF LIBERTY TO OURSELVES AND OUR POSTERITY, DO ORDAIN AND ESTABLISH THIS CONSTITUTION FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”…..and now it has an expiration date.

McCain campaign accuses LA TIMES of 'suppressing' Obama video...

So Trent Lott makes a toast at a dinner for Strom Thurmond and is forced to resign his seat in Congress because some interpret his remarks to possibly be racist. But Obama attends a dinner where he praises Rashid Khalidi, a mouthpiece of the Palestine Liberation Organization, and at this same party a number of the attendees speak about Israel being a terrorist country and such, is even friends with this man, and we now know that a newspaper has had a copy of a tape showing all of this for 6 months and won't release it, and this man not only is allowed to run for President but no one cares and might actually win? And that same newspaper even goes so far as to endorse him?

What is wrong with this sick, sick country we live in?

Any Jew who votes for this person is committing suicide. And any Christian who votes for Obama is as well. And any Westerner who votes for him is an accessory to the future Holocaust. The Nazi's are gone people, the new threat has arrived and they are after the Jews and The Christians, because as far as they are concerned, we are all equally as bad. The Holocaust has taken on a whole new light.

A gaffe of this size by any other vp in waiting....

So I hear Joe Biden say to Katie Couric "Part of what a leader does is instill confidence that he or she knows what they're talking about, that if they listen to me we can fix this....when the stock market crashed Franklin Roosevelt got onto television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed..." Of course Roosevelt wasn't the President (it was Hoover, by the way) and there wasn't TV. Did you hear about this? Can you imagine if this were Sarah Palin making these comments to Couric? There'd be SNL skits, a cover on US, TIME, Newsweek magazines, 15 headlines on the NY Times alone not to mention ABC, CBS, and NBC. Letterman would have no guests, just an hour long monologue about what you DON'T need to know to be a small town mayor and what exactly DO they learn at the University of Idaho anyway, and Bill Maher would drop dead from a heart attack from the excitement alone. But because it's good ole boy Joe, it's just fatigue, or a gaffe, or bad soda, or ... or...something...

It just makes me ill the double standard. At least be fair. Let's have some NY Times headlines about Biden's leadership qualities, his missteps. Let's have Darryl Hammond do his best Biden on the train while he misquotes Lincoln, or better yet, have Hammond pretend to plagiarize him in a speech on the Senate floor. Oh wait, I think Biden may have already done that. Or does he only plagiarize the British? I forget. I can't seem to find any recent articles on that. No NY Times headlines on Bidens tendancy to plagerize other peoples speeches or essays. Maybe Hammond can imitate Joe doing Nixon as President during WW2? Or how about Regan during Prohibition? What University did you go to Joe? How many States were YOU Governor of Joe? How many National Guards were you Commander of Joe? Do you really want this a-hole one heartbeat away from the Presidency?

WISE FROM WISDOM: Where it comes from

Most people feel a sense of superiority and intelligence in their ignorance BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE THEY ARE WISE, only because they are told they are wise, NOT BECAUSE THEY HAVE GAINED ANY WISDOM. To control the knowledge is to truly have all the power. People are not well educated, just well indoctrinated. If you've read Brave New World, 1984, or Anthem by Ayn Rand than you understand that two of the common themes of these books are 1) the lack of individualism (Communism, collective society) and 2) ignorance of facts. The people (characters) are devoid of knowledge and are only given what those in charge believe they need. If one is lied to enough the lie becomes truth. Ignorance is the only path to Communism. That's why the liberals took over the education systems and the media.

My good friend Ari David, someone I highly respect, pondered:

"The problem is that an informed electorate, well informed on the facts of the issues at hand in this day and age, is critical to preserving this country's safety, prosperity and freedom. In an election year like this one, on which so much matters, it is a tragedy of immense proportion that so many well educated people just buy whole cloth the preposterous factoids the mainstream news media reports as rumor or truth and then these well informed people repeat it as gospel.”

The truth is, people believe they are informed, they believe they have facts. The news ACTS as though they are unbiased and factual. Hannity admits his bias. The 11 o'clock news does not. ABC does not. The AP does not. The people believe they are preserving America, they just don't know what America is. They don't know history, only the misinformation they were taught in school. They believe they have all the facts, but they are only armed with one side.

Here's an example: I have given facts, indisputable facts from the Center for Disease Control, the CDC, hardly a right wing think tank, to argue my point and been told that it's just right wing rhetoric. When the person I'm debating can no longer argue their point that's their out. Whatever I say, it's just right wing rhetoric. What can you do with that? These are people with MBA's, teachers, leaders, people who make over $100k per year. I have discussed abortion with people who’ve graduated Ivy League schools who didn’t know that it was legal through all 9 months, didn’t understand what partial-birth abortion was or even at what stage it was performed. But they are fed misinformation and believe they are wise. And this is our future.

POLITICS AS UNUSUAL

I love the political season, the excitement over policy, the debates, speeches, and campaigns. Everywhere you turn there’s a sign or a bumper sticker stating what people proudly believe. Discussions range on all issues with passions overflowing at the most unlikely of places, like the grocery store, or the park, or the library. But I like to know about more than just what my future President wants for my country. There are local elections that are just as important that I monitor. As you well know, the House and Senate are more powerful at times than the executive office as current events would dictate. Which value system, which direction the country goes greatly depends on who holds the majority in those houses. Change can occur on that level as well. In my district in Texas, Chet Edwards, a Democrat, is up for reelection for a tenth term to keep his seat in the US House of Representatives. Does Chet Edwards represent me and my beliefs? Does he represent the beliefs of my family, my value system, do his votes help the country move in the direction I want it to go, or do his votes help it move in the opposite direction? This is important. Does he represent most other Texans, their values and beliefs? How exactly does Chet Edwards vote, what does he believe in? With 18 years in Congress, I had plenty to look at. Let me share with you what I discovered.

Edwards talks like a moderate but votes like a leftist. He says he’s a conservative Democrat, but his votes betray this; he ranks as a left-of-center liberal. He voted 96% of the time with his party. You may remember a little $700 billion dollar bailout bill that recently went through the house and senate. Edwards’ office received thousands upon thousands of emails and phone calls from the people he “represents”, including me, to vote no on a bill that many saw as the country moving towards socialism. Chet Edwards voted yes. The bill failed, barely. Later that same week the House got the bill back from the Senate. A few more thousand phone calls and emails later and did Mr. Edwards listen to the cries of his constituents, the people who have elected him 9 times? That Friday he voted yes, again. Hmm, that made me wary. What kind of representative doesn’t listen to the very people he is supposed to represent?

This wasn’t the first time Rep. Edwards ignored the will of the people. With 9 previous elections to look at, I realized that Edwards ran on the idea that he was just like us, profamily, pro war, patriotic, another Texan trying to make our voice heard in Washington. However, upon arriving in DC, Edwards became just another liberal. I went to a website, http://www.ontheissues.org/ , a non-partisan site that simply logs votes on every political leader, as well as other sites, to see where he stands on the issues; what he does after he gets your vote. And what I discovered is there’s a reason Nancy Pelosi recommended Chet Edwards to be Barack Obama’s running mate.

Apparently, Rep. Edwards doesn’t like the idea of energy independence. He voted against offshore drilling, he voted against drilling in ANWR, and he voted NO on authorizing construction of new oil refineries.

What about the war on terror? Many of our neighbors are soldiers in Iraq, and let’s be honest; we’re more than just a little patriotic over here. He has to represent us accurately on this issue right? Well, he voted to retreat from Iraq and cut off funding for the troops and the next year he voted YES on investigating Bush, impeachment for lying about Iraq. This is a Conservative Democrat?

Ok, education. Vouchers and prayer in school, well that’s something us Texans take very seriously. Our faith plays an important role in our life, and with the corruption in the Dallas and Tarrant school districts we can all see the need for school choice. How does Chet treat this issue with his all too precious vote? He voted no on federal funding to schools allowing voluntary prayer and against school prayer during the war on terror. He voted against vouchers for private & parochial schools and against vouchers for schools in D.C.

And then there’s abortion, an issue that’s near and dear to me. I was at a fundraising gala on Tuesday night benefitting the Burleson Pregnancy Aid Center. This center has helped countless pregnant women in the area for 22 years and is well known for its pro-life stance. They announced that in attendance was Rob Curnock, Edwards’ opponent, and his wife Karen. A few moments later it was announced that a representative from Edwards’ staff was also in attendance. What do you suppose Rep. Edwards’ voting record on abortion looks like? Well, he didn’t vote along with his constituents that’s for sure, district 17 is a pro-life district. Heck, he didn’t even vote along with mainstream America. He voted twice, TWICE, not to ban partial-birth abortion. That’s right; he has no problem with partial birth abortion. He voted yes to expand and allow the completely unsuccessful embryonic stem cell research, and he wouldn’t even vote to ban human cloning for the purpose of reproductive and stem cell research. That means he thought it was fine for embryos to be created for the sole purpose of being experimented on for research. Human cloning, he thought that was just fine and dandy. He voted no on making it a crime to hurt a fetus during another crime. And this is my personal favorite, he voted NO on funding for health providers who don't provide abortion info, which flies in the very face of the Burleson Aid Center, you know, the center he had a rep attend a gala for so his name would be announced after Curnocks', his opponents. He voted to make sure centers like that wouldn’t get federal funding because they don’t provide abortion information and then has the audacity to attend their gala for political purposes knowing very well that he has a 100% pro-choice voting record according to NARAL, one of the most extreme abortion groups in the country.

I’m tired of being used. I’m tired of my voice and my vote being made into a joke. I’m tired of being taken for granted, and aren’t you as well? Chet Edwards is the stereotypical politician who says whatever will get him elected than votes against those constituents when he gets to Washington, knowing that the people he represents are too busy working to keep food on the table to keep track of every move he makes. And when it comes time to campaign, he lies about what he’s done and depends on the media to either cover up his past or gloss over his part because they’re in the tank for him. Chet Edwards is anti energy independence, anti war, anti school choice, and pro-abortion in the furthest extreme. Chet Edwards doesn’t represent me; I don’t think he represents most Texans. With the full information I believe most residents of district 17 would agree.

I want someone in the House of Representatives who is an actual Representative. That’s what this country is all about. Rob Curnock believes in drilling, in energy independence, is pro-life and has always supported our troops in Iraq. Rep. Edwards hasn’t heard us for 18 years. He didn’t hear us when we called and asked him to represent us when the country was in a crisis. In November I’m going to make sure he hears by voting for Rob Curnock. I’m going to make sure that the person who sits in the House for District 17 votes for the people from district 17. I’m voting for Rob Curnock.

MY COUNTRY FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT
(originally written on Friday, October 10, 2008)

Well, two things happened today that will ensure I get a good night sleep. With all the turmoil in the world, I’ve some trouble settling down at night. There are still terrorists out there wanting to slip into my house and slit the throats of my family, and then there are the terrorists that just want to blow everything up. There’s a financial disaster that has spread around the world, and the answer in my country is to violate every part of the Constitution that founded this nation and implement fascism by purchasing banks, not to mention the taxpayer funded bribery bill…sorry, I mean bailout bill that cost 700 billion dollars. (I didn’t even know I had $700billion lying around. Oh, did I tell you I own a part of AIG? Got it for a steal? Should start to see returns on it in a few decades. I’ll take you out to Red Lobster as soon as the windfall comes in.) Anyway, this is on top of all the other emotional things that arise when there’s an election. So again, you can see why I’ve been restless.

But tonight, tonight my friends, I can sleep well. Because today, the most important issues of the day, of the decade really, have been laid to rest. The worry that has been bubbling just on the periphery of my mind but I just couldn’t allow myself to focus on because it was too great of a cause has been tackled and justice has won handily. Whatever may happen with these other issues takes a back seat for I want to bask in the glory of the moment when at last, the world is aligned. At least for today, two wrongs have been righted. At least, for today, gay couples in Connecticut can legally get married and finally, GOD! finally that awful Sarah Palin will pay for not firing but asking that commissioner to change positions up in Alaska! I cannot tell you how long I have been waiting for these two things to be addressed! How many waking hours have been spent wondering, contemplating, the horror of living in a state where you have to get up every day, go to work, eat, play, pay bills, live your life, and for each of those moments the government of Connecticut is not recognizing your love! I know, I know, for all those years we were told that marriage is for losers, is unnecessary, or in the immortal words of Bon Jovi “I don’t need no preacher to tell me you’re mine” but apparently we were just stupid heterosexuals. It was all a joke. Marriage is THE thing now days, well, if you’re gay. Not if you’re straight. If you’re straight it’s still all the rage to live in sin and have babies out of wedlock. But if you’re gay, well let me tell you it’s just IMPOSSIBLE to get thru a MORNING without the state recognizing your love. I know the feeling well. I find it hard to even write this without doing an internet search to see if anything in my life is recognized by the state. Anyway, with everything going on, I’m just so happy the State of Connecticut took it upon themselves to solve this all so important dilemma.

As for the other, I think that damn Sarah Palin has been getting away with this corruption and abuse long enough! I mean while she was thinking of personal problems while talking to her employees she was also Ways and Means Committee Chairman writing IRS tax laws and lying on her taxes, as well as chairman of the House Financial Services Committee during the worst financial crisis we’ve ever had while her campaign received numerous kickbacks from Fannie and Freddie, AND she also served as Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee while getting kickbacks and being Fannie and Freddie’s number 1 campaign recipient! I’m just glad they rushed to investigate her so quickly!! During these perilous times, it makes me feel good to know that our resources, and the focus of the media, is on the people in the government who are committing acts of corruption and fraud, and who are abusing their power. The public servants such as governors, senators, and members of congress work for us and are to be held accountable and to a higher standard. And in this perilous time it’s so heartening to know that the wheels of justice are swift and furious. This heinous act (not so much the threat of firing a commissioner that she didn’t get along with and she had every right to fire but the demand that he stop being such a jerk) is appalling and should be sanctioned at every opportunity. I believe that every employer should be forced to work with anyone they don’t like, especially holdovers of the prior administration. It’s sad that she was found not guilty of actually doing anything wrong, just guilty of possibly thinking of the wrong thing when she lawfully executed her lawful right to ask an employee to change positions because he didn’t fit in the one he was in and was an ass, refused, and then resigned when in fact she had the lawful right to actually fire said employee for any reason such as, oh, I don’t know, wearing white shoes after Labor Day. And that her husband, the bastard, had the gall to talk on the phone in her office to the commissioner and ask him to maybe, if he had the time, ask one of his guys to please stop trying to kill his father-in-law. I am ecstatic that so much time and energy was spent investigating what was already being investigated and that such a thorough job was completed so quickly! And by a panel of bipartisan people who have absolutely no power whatsoever but sure can yell real loud! And that the media was right there for every moment!

Because without them, I might have missed that fact that it was actually Democrat Rep. Charles Rangel who is the Ways and Means Committee Chairman that lied on his taxes and has yet to be investigated and is in fact still the chairman, that it is Democrat Rep. Barney Frank who was, and still is, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and has yet to be investigated, and that it is Democrat Senator Chris Dodd who was, and still is, Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee and has yet to be investigated.

But I have faith in our Country. I know that all of these issues will be taken care of and all of these people will be investigated. Eventually. There were just more important things to do first. And I for one will sleep well knowing that at least we have our priorities straight.
